Description
This is one of the pieces I have created about my partner Jo, she was once a model and a Playboy play mate, very pretty woman and I loved some of the photos she had modelled for so decided to add her to the collection of nudes I was doing.
Jo Frederiks is a passionate animal rights advocate, speaking through her art to create awareness of animal cruelty. She is a fulltime practicing Wildlife artist, currently working towards her next major exhibition, exposing the well-hidden plight of helpless ‘livestock’ animals.
Working in varying mediums, Jo favours graphite and oil paint. She has previously studied at The Arts Academy in Brisbane, graduating with Honours.
She has had many solo, joint, and group exhibitions throughout the years. Her drawings are sensitive, exquisite and beautifully detailed, showing a rare glimpse of the depth and character to each individual animal.
Jo grew up on a million acre cattle station in central Queensland. It was this environment that not only nurtured her connection to animals, but highlighted their immense vulnerability at the hands of man
